Leading industry conference features Faurecia experts
Joining some of the leading industry players, Faurecia once again participated at the annual Management Briefing Seminars (MBS) in Traverse City, Michigan. Hosted by the Center for Automotive Research, MBS is an annual conference, which offers thought-provoking sessions that provide a vision of where the global automotive industry is headed. Industry leaders, along with representatives from the financial community, academia, government and the press, gathered to connect and focus on issues impacting the industry and the pathways to success. Faurecia was present in a few capacities – as a sponsor and a speaker – at the 2017 conference.
Sharing the stage with executives from FCA and Toyota, Dave DeGraaf, President of FCM North America, discussed world class manufacturing and how Faurecia is adopting Industry 4.0 principles within its manufacturing practices. After his session, DeGraaf accepted the Altair Enlighten Award for the Adaptive Valve, an FCM technology.
“We are extremely proud of this honor and for being recognized as an industry leader in lightweighting,” said DeGraaf. “This technology is the result of hard work, dedication and creativity on behalf of our Faurecians, and I hope this will inspire others to continue innovating and excelling as we drive forward as an industry.”
Faurecia was also represented by Elizabeth Griffith, Director of Engineering for FIS, during a session on “Leading in a Transitional World.” Speaking on behalf of Inforum as well as Faurecia, Griffith highlighted the importance of diversity within the automotive industry. Griffith also led a special student roundtable, where she was joined by Chris Wiegandt, Vice President of Strategy and Market Intelligence for FCM, and other industry executives as they spoke to university students about the importance of STEM education and careers.
In addition to these activities, Faurecia sponsored two students to attend MBS and connect with potential employers
